Boston Pops is such a wonderful tradition! It always marks the transition to spring and warmer weather and a pleasant time of the year. This spring was no exception. Thirty of our Class of '57 alumni and friends attended a very pleasant dinner at the Varsity Club followed by the traditional walk up Huntington to Symphony Hall. Keith Lockhart celebrated his tenth anniversity with Pops with an inspiring evening of music including a NU student soloist who led us in the "Alma Mater" and "All Hail". It was also the tenth anniversary of Northeastern Night at the Pops. This event has proven to be a great success, partly because of the nostalgia, but also because it provides such a pleasant venue for renewing bonds with classmates. We look forward to doing it again.
To steal a page from the alumni website, NU adopted the nickname Huskies in 1927 and the first Husky appeared on campus that spring. So, as we look forward to celebrating our 50th in '07 the husky mascot tradition will be celebrating its' 80th!
